Pengaruh Prone Positioning terhadap Respiratory Rate dan Saturasi Oksigen pada Bayi Gawat Napas (Respiratory Distress Syndrome) Di Ruang NICU RSD Gunung Jati Cirebon
ABSTRACTrnRespiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS) is also called respiratory syndrome, which is a major threat to infants and children who are in recovery from severe illness. This syndrome is characterized by respiratory distress and hypoxemia occurring within 72 hours. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2011, the incidence of RDS in Europe is 2-3%, in the Americas as much as 1.72%, in Southeast Asia about 5-10% RDS is found in infants less than months and 50% in infants weighing Body 501-1500 grams. Currently, RDS is the main cause of newborn infant death. The purpose of this study is to know the comparison of effectiveness of prone and lateral position on oxygenation status in infants with Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS) in NICU RSUD Gunung Jati Cirebon. This research uses a quasi-Experimental with experiment method, with pre-test design -post test of non equivalent control group design, simple experimental form by taking measurements before and after intervention. This research uses random sampling technique with 76 respondents. Univariate analysis to describe the characteristics of respondents. Bivariate analysis and multivariate analysis in this study used Mancova analysis. The results showed that prone positioning was more effective in increasing oxygen saturation compared to lateral position although the difference was very small. It is suggested that Prone position intervention can be performed as a routine action on the NICU combinedwith lateral positions in respiratory infants (RDS) in the hope of improved oxygenation statusKeywords: Prone Position,, Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS), Oxygenation Sta
